Albuquerque Boys Choir
SHERILYN Welton-Betzen received her Master of Music in Performance and Theory from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and her Bachelor of Music Education and Performance from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo with a double major in Music Education and Cello Performance. She has also studied at Yale, University of Notre Dame and Denver University. She owns and operates Bosque Farms Music Studio and directs programs for students from four years through adult. In addition to voice, she teaches violin, cello, piano, guitar and MusikGarten classes for children preschool through 7. She also home-schools her own son, Michael, who is a member of the ABC's Concert Choir.
Historically, the Cadet Choir was a preparatory, non-performing choir. In the seven years Sherilyn has directed the choir, it has expanded to a performing choir that now presents an average of fifteen concerts per year, including their own one-day school tour and a three-day tour of New Mexico at the end of the season.
